Staying Warm in the (Post) Polar Vortex

I survived temperatures of what felt like -40 Fahrenheit.

Did I actually go outside in it? No, why would I voluntarily do that? But, still, I survived and we're lucky to have, too. Had it not been for my work-from-home career and our internet savvy upbringing, we wouldn't have known how to keep water pipes from freezing, or how to keep frost from forming on the inside of our apartment. Who knows what could have happened? I probably would have complained about how cold I was and lived, but still, who knows?

So needless to say, I didn't wear this while the Midwest was being harassed by the Arctic--and I would not have been nearly warm enough if I did--but it is a casual errands running outfit for the mild days of winter. Today is a wonderful 45 and the snow we got right after the Polar Vortex is quickly melting, but it's still winter, and therefore, it's still inherently cold, so pants, boots and a coat are needed. I picked this coat up from Target on like, super clearance at a low low price of $13 and it's not warm enough for the arctic, it is warm enough for today. I wore a plain white and black turtleneck top and black coated pants. I added some heeled Chelsea boots and an actually unneeded scarf to go grocery shopping. Adulthood means getting dressed to go get groceries, who would have thunk it.
