Merry Christmas Eve Eve!
Thrifted Red Coat
Christmas is days away and the color red is everywhere, including on myself. I think everyone should own a red coat because it's a departure from the normal black coats that people wear in the winter, and it's a color that is almost universally flattering. I thrifted this one so many years ago, but I still love it! I think the red makes the black of the outfit underneath not look too edgy or too mismatched (I don't know how to wash black garments, don't at me, please!), and I really dig it. Red and black is a classic combo for a good reason.
Speaking of old items, this scarf! It's probably my favorite but rarely worn accessory. I was heavily influenced from the outfits of yesteryear of Rhiannon Ashlee, aka fashionrocksmysocks. It was 2013 and she bought one from Asos (I think?) and styled it with a leather jacket and it gave me heart palpitations. You know you found your style when the sheer look of something makes you physically feel something. So naturally, I ordered one and let me tell you, I still ooh and ah over it. Albeit, while I'm not wearing it. But, I'm changing that!
The rest of the outfit is me being a creature of a comfort--sweater, skirt, tights and boots. What can I say? When it's cold, I'm cold, and I just want to be comfortable and cute. And let me tell you, I am comfy and I am cute.
