Thrifted Hat
Warm colors go with warm colors, it's the fashion law. I just had to pair this favorite blouse of mine with this favorite skirt of mine, and don't you know? It's perfect.
Look at that puffy face! Your girl needs to actually try to recover, instead of needless pushing herself at work and on the internet. I have a hard time accepting that I myself need to take a step back, and I always push myself way more than I need to for my own personal satisfaction. So, I'm taking a very small hiatus while my mouth heals. I'll be back very soon!

Navy blue and mustard yellow are a match made in a colorful heaven. I love the way the yellow looks next to the blue, I can't describe it.
I had dental surgery yesterday and I'm truly trying to keep it together. I refuse to be couch or bed ridden, even though I’ve been told to take it easy. How does anyone “take it easy”? Does anyone else feel the innate need to be be doing something, even if it’s not “productive”? I have such a hard time relaxing and I think everyone who has ever met me can tell. I should be laying down with ice on my face, but I just can't. I know I'm not alone in this, it's just easier to say "take it easy" than it actually is.

Happy first day of Fall!
It's 72 outside and the windows are open. I'm a little overzealous with a sweater, but let me live!
I like these warm monochrome layers--the dress, the sweater, the boots--they're all in the same color family and it's satisfying to see. I belted the dress at my natural waist and then half tucked the sweater into it, to define my waist.

Old Forever 21 Blouse
Is there a better collection of colors than brown, orange and white? I love it, and you've all seen me wear it many a time before, but I can't help it! The last time I wore this combo, I had about 12 more inches of hair, and I was a legally single woman. How times can change!

Old Chelsea Boots
I don't know why it's taken me this long to recognize that almost all of my favorite fall dresses are baby doll cut. I don't know why I continue to buy them when they're so hard to belt? But they sure are cute.
This dress is pretty old and it's such a staple in my cool weather wardrobe. It's lightweight, so it's layerable, it's plaid, and it's green! I've found a new love for deep dark greens over the last for years and I'm looking forward to wear that takes me. I layered a white Peter Pan collared blouse under the dress and tied a green ribbon around the collar. I belted the dress to define my waist and then my trust heeled Chelsea boots completed this witch inspired outfit!
I love layering blouses under dresses with low necklines, it's a way to style a piece so differently than intended, and it is a thing of beauty!

I remember when I bought this cardigan--it was tax time and I walked through the mall and went into Urban Outfitters to cut through the mall to get outside and I saw it--a golden yellow chunky cardigan. I squealed on the inside, it was me in a nutshell! I looked at the tag: $59.99. For a cardigan? I could buy so much stuff for $60! I put it back on the rack and I resigned myself to a life without it, until my boyfriend (now husband) told me I deserved it. I still don't think I deserve a $60 cardigan, but I obviously bought it and love it.
Funny thing about this blouse: I bought it to wear to work and I wore it exactly once to work. I'm trying to reclaim my business casual clothing for more casual wear, but it's hard!

I wanted to be very casually cool today, and that's what this is! A great outfit for a chill Tuesday.

Old Scarf
This is my favorite blouse for the fall. It's dramatic and it's so hard to mess up with styling, and it's perfect with this button down pleated skirt! I like to keep things simple sometimes, and there's nothing like a basic blouse + skirt + boots outfit! What is your default outfit?

Perfect summer top + perfect summer skirt = perfection. It's a match made in transitional season weather.
I'm trying to make the most of my summer wardrobe while summer is still here. There is less than two weeks until the first day of Fall and temperatures don't seem to be looking to cool down anytime soon so, looks like I'll be getting a lot of wear out of them!

Gifted Beret
Your girl likes a theme. I am not a green wearer, but forest green and deep greens are my favorite. I have had this dress for years and it's one of my favorite fall pieces! I was recently given the gift of a green beret and ugh, I can't wait to wear berets all fall and winter. I have green, red, pink and black and all I need is a brown and yellow and I will be forever happy.
This outfit is going all in on all green. The beret, the dress, the loafers, it's a theme I went hard on.

Quintessential early fall dressing here. It's too hot to wear this, yet here I am, wearing it. Maybe it's because I'm just in the mood to layer, or maybe it's because I already transitioned my wardrobe and now I have no choice.

We can just say I'm a fan of layering things under and over dresses. Pieces need to serve multiple purposes in my wardrobe and so, you will see me style things multiple ways.

Pretend witchy woman.
How do you guys feel about the word "witch" being used in fashion noawadays? Are we correlating the magic of witches to that of fashion, or, are we taking bits and pieces of the archetype of a witch--big hats, all black--and reclaiming them?
I think the popularity of the new Sabrina show, the American Horror Story season with witches, and the sexual health, wellness and independence movement has really fueled the use of the word in fashion, and I'm here for it.

False fall has came and gone and now we're in second summer. The weather is foretasted to have hot days and cool nights this week and the foreseeable future and man, I just want cool days.

Brown Panama Hat
This outfit needs balance. I like imbalance sometimes, but, honestly, it's almost like a compulsion for me to want to balance an outfit. A long sleeve top should be paired with a longer skirt, and though I love this outfit, ugh, if the skirt was a little longer it'd be my favorite. If I had a duster on, than that would evoke balance and I'd be much happier with it.
The employee at Lush complemented me, though, so I have outward approval, too!

Thrifted Hat
A fully thrifted outfit! Though most of my clothes are second hand, or ethically purchased, it's still a struggle to create outfits head to toe with completely thrifted items. I find that my city lacks stylish shoes and I can never find good shoes on Poshmark or Depop in my size that aren't expensive. Sorry, I'm not spending $45 on the shoes you bought from a "boutique" that buys from China for way less than that. I am definitely trying, though!
I didn't thrift these all together, of course, I've collected these over the years. The pinafore is the newest, with me snatching it off the rack last year. The blouse is fairly new, too, but the hat and shoes I have had forever.
This outfit screams fall. It screams hot apple cider in the apple orchard, which I'm happy to announce my husband and I will do this fall! We've never been apple picking, and my husband is a connoisseur of apples, so it's going to be a lot of fun. I probably won't wear this there, though.
