It is the end of June! How in the world! We're halfway through the year and that's both a cool and sad thing!

I'm not sure if I have said this, but, I like the colors of the 70s! The yellows, orange, rust, green, browns, ugh, they're gorgeous. So, when I put this thrifted yellow bardot top with this thrifted cognac brown faux leather maxi skirt, and belted with a white belt, it just screamed 70s inspired.

It's Saturday and I just wanna chill. Literally, it's hot.

Jokes aside, this is a pretty cool and casual outfit. It's simply just a dress+shoes outfit formula, but with the addition of some stacked necklaces and a fun headscarf in the same color family as the dress, it's a little more interesting. The dress is a gorgeous goldenrod which you know is my favorite color, and it's an oldie but goodie thrifted piece. I added some brown accents with the Target footbed sandals and thrifted belt, and then for some balance on the head, I didn't want to do a hat, so I grabbed a thrifted vintage scarf and tied it as a turban around my head for some visual interest.

Is it pattern mixing if it's the same pattern but in different sizes and colors? In any case, here is some more pattern mixing! I've been really inspired lately by the random fashion TikToks I've seen in my FYP and that kind of organic inspiration is the kind that makes me jump out of my seat to look at my closet. I love that. I can get burnt out with fashion really easily because I surround myself with it, so, to see things I don't specifically subscribe to is a breath of fresh air.

Red on red with a little pink. Red may not be everyone's Summer color, but, it is for me! Add some pink and I think it's definitely a summer color.

Monochrome means effort, and I like an outfit that takes effort. The black and white just look so good together in both the gingham and swiss dot print and accenting with white helps brighten the look while still playing into the monochrome.

I love a square neckline, I don't know what it is about them that just make me like them! This blouse has been seen many times, but it's secondhand is a 3, maybe even 4, season blouse that just gives and gives. I paired it with a pink button up skirt, and admittedly, this is a repeat of an outfit last year, but, who cares!

I'm really into royaltycore, even if I don't buy the GORGEOUS Lirika or Tueta Motoshi dresses to live it out. I live for the dramatic escapism of the style! I saw an ad for Selkie, who makes those cute puffy cloud dresses, and it was basically like, "Life is short, no one is going to remember what you wore, wear the dress" and that's how I feel. I'm not at all what someone would consider a dramatic dresser, but where I live, it's not a fashion city and it's hard to wear "outlandish" things.

Summer is not summer without the unbelievably loud cicadas just screaming outside. It comes in roars and I haven't known a summer without them. I wonder what a quiet summer sounds like?

The return of this dress is here! It's one of my favorite casual (casual probably means something different to me than you) dresses because it's breezy and lightweight and just fun. The print is like some 90s cream floral and it's button down and it just reminds me of dresses we'd see in the 90s. I'm not that into retro trends, but I like this dress enough to wear it a lot. It's secondhand and it's getting a lot of love from me! I added some brown accents like this thrifted hat and belt, as well as these super casual footbed sandals. They're from Target and they're super comfy and I think they kinda tie into the 90sish look of the dress. I didn't think I'd be a Birkenstocks person but here I am.

Summer, but make it witchy.

This lace blouse, secondhand from ThredUP, is surprisingly perfect for summer! It's all lace, so, it's breezy and thin. I added a thrifted black vinyl camisole on top for some modesty, because, I mean, the lace top is completely lace, after all, and added a thrifted sheer black skirt for a monochromatic but texturally interesting summer outfit!

After a year and a half inside, I am surprised that I'm actually ready for summer. I never thought I'd say that, as a life long disliker of summer, but, I've been building up my warm weather wardrobe, which I have historically lacked, and I cannot wait to be outside and feel the tickle of the sun on my SPF covered, bare vaccinated skin.

Picnic ready with this sunhat and dress! What can I say, a straw hat is so summery and I just wanna lay in the grass on a blanket under some trees. Or, maybe on a towel on the sand on the beach ala Ms. Lovett from Sweeney Todd in this striped dress. The stripes are pink but they are dark pink and almost red, and give me the Victorian bathing suit vibe. I know it's not exact, but it's enough to make me get that feel!

There is just something about the pearl encrusted headbands that make me feel royal. Did a British royal wear one at some point?

The sheer floral dress is back and she's still a beaut. I actually wore it out to my first dinner in a restaurant in 16 months--we're fully vaccinated--and I got ketchup on it, but I'm happy to report it came out unscathed!

I know I look good in jeans. I know I have the shape of someone who should wear jeans but I'm such a dress and skirt girl! I don't think I'll ever me a jeans jeans girl, but, I can definitely acknowledge I could be.

It's June?? How! May went by so incredibly fast that it's almost impossible to think we're already in month 6 of 12!

Let's talk about pastel pink and coral because that's not a combo I would have put together. I thrifted this Halogen skirt for a whipping $8 in October and it originally retails for $80. Excuse me?? Coral is such a vibrant color and I love how it plays with this pink, and though coral isn't my fave color, it's going to be so good this summer with all of my pinks and yellows. Talk about a good find! This top is thrifted, too, and I got it from the same seller who sold me the yellow version of it and it's gorgeous.
