"I'm a witch, duh."

I'm channeling my inner Karen Smith from Mean Girls, but, obviously, I'm wearing a witch inspired outfit on this Halloween. It's not a costume, I should say, and I don't think I've dressed up for Halloween since I was 18, so it's been quite a while. This is just an outfit that looks like something Wednesday Addams would wear if she was twee.

If you ever send me something with a bow around it, I'm keeping the ribbon. Like, most of my fabric ribbons are from someone's cute packaging. I love a good ribbon.

Happy Tuesday! Today is a gingham Tuesday, and is your reminder that Election Day is a week from today, and that you still have time to early vote in a ton of states, as well as register to vote in some states. Elections shape our country's future!

I don't care about fashion rules, but, one of the rules I absolutely hate is that brown and black cannot go together. Get out of here with that! I think it's such a classic combination of colors that is seen in nature and you are limiting yourself by not wearing it and following such a rule.

Tis the season for browns! And, you know how I love a good brown 'fit.

I recently got new glasses, you would have seen the other pair here, and I'm glad that I finally got a new prescription. Don't be me, don't forgo your eye health for 9 years and wear the same prescription until you legitimately cannot see anymore. It's a trip to be able to see clearly again, and just how often I used to squint. My eyes are still getting used to them and man, they're tired.

How good is this sweater?! It's soft, warm, and I love the shape of it. It's a great fall sweater, being that it is brown, and I've worn it probably a dozen times before it being featured here.

It's really only natural that as someone who likes pink and yellow that I would like pink and orange! It's a colorful combination that makes pink Autumnal and it makes me want more burnt orange for the fall.

I'm not dressed all that appropriately for a Monday, but, how else are you supposed to dress?

Another day, another viewing of this lovely blouse, this time in it's full unadulterated glory. When I got this blouse, I knew it would be perfect with this skirt, so, I put them together as hurriedly as the weather permitted and I was right! I want to wear this blouse with everything, and I'm having to stop myself from doing that!

Fall weather has finally decided to stay after a few bouts of "false fall" and it's exciting! The leaves have already changed, and most of them have already fallen around here, due to some fall storms, but, it was beautiful while it lasted.

I mentioned in a recent post that I had the worst outfit for a pumpkin patch, but I have to say, this is a close second. We went back to the orchard today, albeit, me in very different shoes, and we bought some apple cider donuts and apple cider slushies. If you were wondering where my allegiance is with the pumpkin spice vs apple cider, I'm an apple cider stan.

I didn't think burnt orange and rose pink would go together and I didn't think that adding brown and an animal print boot would look so good, but here we are, with a wonderful and unexpected combination.

I don't know what possessed me to combine these together. It my have been my wanting to wear this mockneck and these boots together, and shoehorning them into whatever I wanted, and I'm so surprised! Maybe I should force an outfit together more often.

Stripes and dots go together so well, especially when they're in the same colorway. Stripes and dots are classic prints, and go together easily because of this, so, I'm by no means a pattern mixing expert, but I am pretty chuffed by this mixing success.

What print is this? I think it's cheetah, but, if I'm being honest, I've seen a bunch of different guides that call this leopard print, too. I just want to respect the animal it's replicating by calling it by it's appropriate name, you know?

Transparency here, I know this sweater is a monstrosity. It's "taking my (fictional) daughter ice skating in 1993" vibes, but, I love it? Will it be dated by next year? Yes. Is it trendy? Yes. But, I love it, even if it does look absolutely ridiculous. I half tucked it into the skirt and belted it to define my waist and coordinated with brown boots to tie in the brown tones of the skirt. I like the comfy, casual and cool look of this outfit, and it's very Pinterest, unintentionally so!

And the winner of the worst outfit to wear to a pumpkin patch is...this one! Honestly, I don't know what possessed me to wear a long flowy skirt when it was a windy day and I had to walk between patches of still connected to the ground pumpkins. I got a ton of those little prickly plant things all over me and though it didn't hurt, it wasn't fun taking them off my skirt.

This past week, my husband and I went to a local orchard who also has a pumpkin patch, and picked some pumpkins for our front porch. It was a lot of fun, as it always is, and we couldn't pass up the opportunity to take stylized photos of each other for the sake of the occasion. We do seasonal photo changes on our social media for fun, and this seemed like the perfect opportunity to take some!

I recently bought an orange beret on Depop and I had to wear it to the pumpkin patch, come on! It was a warm fall day, and so, I paired an off the shoulder blouse under this basic black crepe sleeveless dress I got from ThredUP awhile back, and then, added a black pleated midi skirt, since it has a defined waist and the dress doesn't. I also have black Chelsea boots on, but they aren't pictured.

It was a really great time, and it was very easy to socially distance. We only passed by people two times, and both times, we had masks on, and we were all more than 12 feet from each other. I'm looking forward to other outside fall activities!

The leaves outside are rapidly changing and I am dressed for them! I love how yellow and rust red go together, and I just needed to wear them together. The texture of the skirt adds interest, as velvet absorbs and reflects light so magically, and it really is the centerpiece, the piece de resistance, of this outfit and I really wouldn't have it any other way. Plus, the way that this outfit so matchy matchy makes my heart happy! The hat, the skirt, the top and the shoes--they're the same colors and wow! I am so happy I found this yellow velvet skirt to add to my fall wardrobe for 2020!

If you haven't noticed, I really like a balanced, matching outfit. The forest green beret matches the forest green skirt, and the brown animal print top matches the brown animal print shoes. Granted, the scale of animal print is not the same, but it's close enough to give me matching vibes.

I told you guys I was going to reclaim pink as an autumn color and I definiteyl feel like I'm doing a good job with this outfit!

I love the mix of pink tones and how contrasting the black is against it. The black of the dress, worn as a top in a classic Katie way, and the black of the skirt sort of ground the pink and make it much more autumnal. The shiny faux leather next to the paisley and suede look so good and the wool beret adds more texture in a subtle way to all in all, make a pink fall outfit!

I saw this dress on someone on Pinterest and I legitimately could not stop thinking about it, because they looked so fantastic in it. I hadn't pinned it, and I had to go find it again, and reverse image search it to find the original user, and then I messaged them to ask where it was from and they kindly linked it. It was from SHEIN. I refrain from buying fast fashion because I prefer to give my money to individual people and sellers, especially now. I searched Depop, Poshmark, ThredUP, and eBay for secondhand brown leather a-line dresses to replicate this look without lining the pockets of a fast fashion site. I searched for, no lie, a week, and found nothing that would actually fit me and my measurements. I then thought for a few days if I should buy this dress. You can tell that I did, eventually, buy it.

This will be my last purchase from SHEIN, as I recently learned they sold a Muslim prayer mat as a decorative item, and were accused of selling a swastika necklace, albeit, it was a Buddhist swastika, but, those gaffs do not go unnoticed. I rarely shopped there in the first place but, I won't again.

That being said, this outfit is an absolute dream, and I'm into it.

Tier and tiers and tiers and tiers and tiers and tiers.

This skirt? Amazing? This blouse? An old classic of my cold weather wardrobe. Put 'em together and I have a monochromatic tiered dream fall outfit. This was a successful experiment!
