Hark! Katie in jeans, what a sight to be seen!

Really though, these jeans aren't bad, and I wear them more than it looks like, but, I still don't like my legs covered like that. Jeans just remind me of being forced to wear them in school because I was terrified I'd be dresscoded for wearing a skirt again.

When the darkest thing about your outfit is your hair.

I'm determined to make pink four season color by bringing it into fall. 2020 has been my pink renaissance, and I can't stop that renaissance now for the sake of fall! There really is no rhyme or reason to this outfit, it's genuinely just pink items put together to make a pink outfit, but, I can saw I scored that pink top off of Poshmark for $15 and it's truly, TRULY, a lovely item. It has puffy sleeves with a ruffle (YES), a tie neck (YES PLEASE) and a ruffle on the bodice (OH GOD YES) so, you know I gasped, salivated, drooled, etc, when I saw it and bought it. It's me in a top. I mean, truly, I'm wearing it.

I found the gingham dress of my dreams, but it was an O R D E A L. To make a long story short, I bought it from a secondhand app I don't use often, and it was a dropshipper. I thought I was scammed for 2 weeks because the USPS number I was given was never scanned in, but, after a few weeks, it appeared in a bag from a wholesale website. So, you know, dropshipper.

If I wanted to buy this dress from that site, I would have, but I bought it under the guise of it being secondhand. I'm still calling it secondhand, but, like, c'mon.

This dress was bought for fall, but since it's a little too warm (ie it's hot as hell again), I styled it a little more for summer/late summer with light browns and sandals.

August is rapidly coming to an end, and on one hand, I'm begging the year to slow down to let me enjoy what I can of it, but on the other hand, I'm screaming at it to go faster so this nightmare of a year is behind us. I know we can all relate.

This is my late summer ode to the upcoming fall season. It's a linen dress in an ochre color that I belted with a brown belt and coordinated that brown with my trusty d'orsay flats and brown panama hat for a monochrome look. At the last moment, I noticed the tie to what I have affectionately called the "Boobie Dress" matches this dress pretty fantastically, so, I tied it under the collar for a pop of black.

I have posted 365 outfits 365 days in a row.

Well, almost.

On August 5th 2019, I did ChloinClothes (now ChloeAlysse)'s Color My Closet challenge on Instagram, where I posted 9 outfits in 9 days, and I realized I really liked doing that. So, officially on August 18th 2019, I started to post outfits daily. And, I liked it, a lot. I liked planning outfits and I liked that I could spend a few hours on a day taking photos and scheduling them for the week and that was all I had to do.

Over the year, I have taken a few days off here and there, for surgery, or for other reasons, but, ultimately, I have produced over 300 outfits in a year, and that is more than I have ever done in such a short period of time.

And, I'm going to stop. On August 19th 2020, today I'm going to stop posting daily on Instagram and, by association, stop posting daily here. I want to stop before it starts to take the joy out of outfits for me and becomes a burden. I'm still going to post, obviously, but just not daily.

Yellow and pink, I know I know! But, can you blame me? It's a match made in heaven.

We have been socially distancing for a little over 5 months now, and it does get easier the longer you do it. I remember thinking in March that it was going to suck to do this until Memorial Day (how foolish was I?!) and now I've sworn off eating at restaurants for the rest of 2020 and we've come to the conclusion that Thanksgiving and Christmas are no-gos this year. Congregating with families in tight places? Not going to happen, Ms Rona, nice try. Though we've resigned ourselves to staying in and only going out for groceries, it doesn't mean I'm not longing to go out and just be out. But, I understand and realize that my wants do not matter when it comes to the wellbeing of our country. Over 160,000 people have died in the US from COVID-19, and I don't want to contribute to that heartbreaking and mostly preventable total.

Wear your mask. Wash your hands. Social distance.

Happy Monday!

It's officially the time of year where I'm over summer and all I want to do is wear fall clothing. Leather skirts, fringe, bows, capes--this A/W season is my jam! But, it's hot still, and it's not fall. So, I'll concede by wearing lightweight layers and hold off with unpacking all of my sweaters. For now, at least.

Square necks. Pleated maxis. Summer storms. An iconic trio.

It's been storming for almost a week now, and the lack of the bright yellow orange sun is really making me crave fall. If you're going to be dreary, at least let me wear my cold weather items.

Pink and gingham, do I have to say anything else?

Gingham is the pattern of fall, for me, and I am still on a look out for a secondhand gingham dress to make my fall wardrobe complete. But, for the time being, I will live vicariously through this off the shoulder gingham top. I paired it will this rose colored skirt for a toned down, but still colorful outfit, and coordinated with a pink belt and mules.

I am an outfit repeater, you know. I know this is similar to an outfit I donned a few weeks ago, but I can't help it!

What a surprise, I'm donning pink and yellow once again! I cannot believe I found this hat on Poshmark, like, I have always wanted a pink wide brim hat and I scored it for $6! It helps to elevate the dress to be a step above casual, and it's just a cute and flirty look!

How is it already the middle of August?! Time flies when you're forced to stay inside and away from people for half the year (and counting)?

Cordially coral. Coral floral.

Another rainy day, another attempt to bring a little color to the otherwise dreary day. I never thought I'd say I liked coral, but this off the shoulder coral dress has been one of my go-tos this summer. I think it's the mix of the pseudo balloon sleeves and the off the shoulder cut that makes it a go to. Clearly, I've been really into the exposed shoulder look this summer, and I think that I can translate it into early fall, as well.

It was all yellow.

You know, I've thought for years, like a decade, that Yellow by Coldplay was about Gwenyth Paltrow. She's blonde, she was married to Chris Martin, the vocalist for Coldplay, there are other songs about her by Coldplay, but, nope, it's not.

I am getting such 90s vibes from this outfit! I think it's the mix of the print, the length of the dress, the shirring and the pointed toe shoes. I can dig it!

It's Monday, and it's a dreary one at that, so, a little red helps to somewhat liven the day for me. Do you wear any clothes that help you sort of wake up? If I wear all neutrals, or all black, than I feel bored? And, tired?

I have said this before, but, this dress has total beach picnic vibes, and ugh, I can totally see myself donning it dramatically to the beach with a sunhat, sitting on a blanket with an umbrella with zero intention on going into the water. Here's to the billions of us who are landlocked!

I saw this outfit by Blair Eadie and was in love with the combination of the red and light blue. The cashmere sweater and the tulle skirt is a vibe for sure! I don't own a light blue cashmere sweater or a red tulle skirt, but, I still wanted to channel the colors into my style. I paired this "Turkish" blue off the shoulder blouse and tucked it into my red pleated midi skirt and accented it with light pink for a cute Saturday outfit!

I am so into plaid, as winter time Katie has shown you and that includes gingham! I used to own a cute gingham dress years ago, but, it disappeared when I moved one time, and I'm on the lookout for another one! This blouse is originally from Target, but I scored it on thredUP and oh my goodness, it is a gingham dream of mine. Off the shoulder, cool sleeves, and it's so perfect for summer and fall! I tucked it into a yellow pleated skirt for summer vibes and oh my gosh, I feel and look like a summer dream.

For full transparency, I am a thredUP ambassador on Instagram, so I was offered a credit to buy an item or items on thredUP and create monthly posts.

Well, it happened. The unexpected happened. The unimaginable happened.

My chest is too big for this dress.

I saw this dress on Posh from a seller I had already liked items from, and I was immediately like:

"I'm going to feel like a golden ray of sunshine in that dress! It looks like the perfect weekday dress!"

Womp womp. Some things don't go as planned. It's okay though! Because, add some black tights, some ankle boots and a coordinating sweater belted over the dress and it's a comfy casual fall outfit, and I can live with that!

Though August, so far, as been an unexpectedly chilly month, I'm still dressing for summer because, I know the moment I pull out of fall stuff, Mother Nature is going to make it hot again. It's the first false fall of the year, that's all.

When I wear linen, I always ask myself, "how did people wear linen before the invention of AC?" This linen dress is heavy and sweat inducing, and I guess it's because it's a heavier weight of linen, but all linen I have ever touched feels like this, so, maybe I'm just touching the wrong linen? In any case, it's a gorgeous dress and I cannot wait to break it out again in Fall!

August has arrived, and with it, the longing for autumn. August has always meant fall for me, because, school started (for me) in August, and though I know August is one of the hottest months of Summer, I just want to feel the crisp breeze of the Autumn arrival, but, I'll stick with welcoming August.
