Outfits with Hats

Outfits with Hats, an outfit by Katie Selt for The Katie Edit www.thekatieedit.com

I get asked about hats all the time, This is not hyperbole, my DMs on Instagram are 60% hat questions, 40% men wanting me to be a sugar baby. Hats are hands down the best accessory, and here's three outfits explaining how and why I added a hat to the outfit.

Arula Hat, Thrifted Blouse (originally SHEIN), Old Skirt Society skirt, Thrifted Mules (originally A New Day)

Pink, need I say more? I kid, but, I added a hat for coordination. The blouse is tinted pink, the skirt is pink, the shoes are pink--adding a pink hat adds to the pink look and adds color where my hair would normally contrast.

Old Altar'd State Hat, Thrifted Dress (originally A New Day), Thrifted Sandals (originally Zara)

This is a example of matching the vibe of the outfit with the hat. This puffy sleeve, shapeless, high neck cottagecore inspired dress does well with a straw hat because the vibe of the dress is cottagecore, and so is the hat!

Old Target Hat, Thrifted Blouse (originally American Eagle) Thrifted Skirt (originally SHEIN) Thrifted Sandals (originally Zara)

I don't say this enough, but, hats are so good for balancing an outfit. This outfit features a long skirt and a long sleeve, yet off the shoulder blouse, so there is a lot of coverage. Adding a hat adds balance to the top so the exposed shoulder doesn't look out of place or like I'm seasonably confused.
